Ever want a cool smoothie but would like a suprise taste explosion at the end? Try this! =)
1 Honey Dew Melon, chopped
1 Cucumber, peeled and chopped
½ cup dried cherries (or fresh)
This smoothie can be made the night ahead so you don’t have to worry about chopping and washing the blender in the morning.. Add chunks of one honey dew and slices of a peeled cucumber to the blender. Blend. Now, at this point you could pour it into a to go cup for today or the next day.
Here’s the explosion part- add 1\4 a cup of dried cherries to each cup if breaking the recipe into two servings. You could freeze half as well.
The drink is so refreshing and then when you get to the bottom the cherries give you something to chew on with a tart, tangy, decadent flavor.
Also the cherries are good to eat to lower inflammation in the body like an aching back, head, or joints. Also cucumbers really keep you cool from the inside out- they are also great and I have noticed they really reduce pain through the next day. So eat a day before you are going to be in the sun or super active.
