i used a clove of garlic instead of the hing (because i couldn't find hing) and it was awful... i'd rather just eat spinach by itself... or avocado by itself

This was a delicious dip. I added a tsp of white onion and 2 cloves of garlic. I added salt, but accidentally added too much-over a tsp! It still tasted great
though. Thanks for the recipe!

I'm going to make this for lunch tomorrow with some red peppers and zucchini for dipping. I will definitely try garlic instead of hing as I don't have any.

Hing is also known as Asofoetida, and can usually be found in the bulk sections of health food stores, at least in Seattle.
Most people I know who are not familiar with the scent find it quite awful. It's used to replace onion or garlic in many recipes, so you might try that instead!

This recipe was super easy and had a surprisingly warm, creamy taste. I was surprised how well the nutmeg blended into the dish. I didn't have the hing (in fact I hadn't heard of it before), so I'll definitely try it again with the full
ingredient list. Also, my blender isn't all that powerful, so I added about a quarter cup of water when blending.

Oh-I also added water, about 1/2 a cup though. My blender is terrible :(
