I bought a ton of fresh asparagus and experimented in making them tasty.
1 bag Asparagus, bottoms removed, halved (horizontally)
¼ cup Nama Shoyu
2½ tablespoon Apple Cider Vinegar
1 Lemon, Juiced
Mix and let marinate for several hours, if you can wait.
I know this has been posted for quite some time, but I recently made it and YUM! Would absolutely recommend it. I might try adding a dash of cayenne and some raw honey =)
This is my new FAVORITE way to fix asparagus. I could hardly believe that something so simple could be so good! Thanks for posting.
just was at the store and was attracted to the fresh asparagus.
very happy to come home and find your recipe...
just whipped some up: YUM!
Does the marinade make the asparagus soft or is it still real crunchy?
I love asparagus and I have a great asparagus bed in my garden, sadly, the time for asparagus out of my garden is gone, but there are some great prices in the supermarket right now.
I did a variation on this, I marinated the asparagus virtually the same way no shoyu since it was already in my bread, then I served it on the onion bread I made with a little hummus spread on and some sliced tomatoes.
It was very yummy!
