Strawberry Pie
Mom made this for my last birthday. It was YUMMY!
Crust
2 cup Pecans or Walnuts, Chop in food processor. (Soak for 12 hours, rinse well and dehydrate nuts to remove phytates and improve
digestibility.)
12 Medjool Dates, remove pits
½ teaspoon Cinnamon
Filling
2 cup Strawberries, Wash, dry and remove
stems.
1 cup Walnuts, Macadamias or any nut you like
12 Medjool Dates (Use 6-12 depending on how sweet you want it), remove pits
Topping
1 cup Strawberries, Wash,
dry, remove stems and slice.
Crust: Put nuts, dates and cinnamon in food processor and process until slightly sticky. Press into pie plate and chill.
Filling: Put Strawberries, Nuts and Dates in food processor or blender and process until smooth. Pour into crust. Decorate with remaining Strawberries and chill for several hours. ENJOY!

3. It depends on the type of nut
It depends on the type of nut & your dehydrator & dehydrator setting.
I use an original Harvest Maid (no longer available) that I've had since the
first time I went raw looooong ago. My husband fixed it so that it's maximum
temperature is 105 degrees.
I've always used it for all my nuts.
Pecans, Walnuts. etc usually take 24 hours.
Almonds, Macadamias, etc 48-60 hours.
Cashews, Pistachios, etc 60-72 hours
I have also dried nuts in my Excalibur at 105 degrees. It takes about half
as long as my Harvest Maid. I don't use it much because the nuts fall off
the trays since they don't have sides to hold them in.

Looks delicious. How long do you dehydrate the nuts?

Thanks for posting. I modified this quite a bit. Used some nut cream with the walnuts for the crust instead of dates. Made a layer of crust, then a layer of bananas, then some nut cream (just thick nut milk - less water) over the bananas, then another layer of crust and just processed strawberries (still had some chunks) over that. A few more banana slices on top and then topped it with nut cream when it got in the bowl. Yum.
