This is spicy, warming, tasty, and filling. Thick almost like a stew, it surprised me that it was so good. The measurements for the spices are estimates, since I was on the run today. I bet other veggies would go great in this too! I was just using what I had on hand this morning and I plan on making more later, it...

Recipe Directions

1. Combine the peppers, shiitake mushrooms, and sun-dried tomatoes in the 1 1/2 cups warm water, allow them to soak for around 2 or 3 hours.

2. Blend the peppers, shiitake mushrooms, and sun-dried tomatoes in the soaking water until completely pureed. While still pureeing, add in the chopped pineapple and seeded fresh tomato.

3. Add in the sea salt, cardamon, pepper, sage and vinegar and combine until completely mixed.

4. Pour the red “broth” into a bowl and stir in the celery, almonds and portabello mushrooms. Sprinkle a bit of celery seed on top and serve.

Thanks sugarsnap! Oooh!!! Thanks justbeautiful and pam, I am definitely going to try that! That sounds great for the sour cream. I made some more tonight for dinner, and actually did it with the veggies blended in and it was smooth, spicy and very savory!

This sounds really good! I wonder how it would work it you use fresh shitakes and blend the celery and almonds in the broth.

Oh my goodness, I actually used the macadamia sour cream and just mixed in about 1 tablespoon after blending it all together as a soup and garnishing with rosemary, thyme and sage. I have to post the picture, it was fabulous. Thanks for all the suggestions, it truly perfected the recipe

Wow pam, I didn't think of that! I have some soaking right now for tomorrow, and I think I am going to try that instead. I was trying to get a "sour cream" type thing to dollop on top, anyone have any suggestions there?
