triple thick chocolate shake
this is quick and easy…keeps me going until lunch
2 organic frozen bananas
2 teaspoon cocoa powder, heaping,or more to taste
½ cup
water
1 tablespoon raw tahini, or almond butter
1 inch scraped vanilla bean, seeds only, or almond extract if using almond butter
1 tablespoon agave
break bananas into chunks, add to blender with everything else and process till thick and creamy.
this is perfect if you have a magic bullet or a blender with that stirring stick top .if you dont have a powerful blender you may have to stop and stir a few times.
oh and by the way , the picture was just to make a point…dont try that at home!
p.s. i just tried this using the cuisinart “smart stick” immersion blender and it was awesome!this is a great way to go !it was quick , super creamy, wisper quiet, and clean up was a breeze.
also makes a creamy, rich ice cream in half the normal freezing time.

Looks so yummy, love the upside down glass! ;)
I will try this tomorrow morning.
2.
Funny how much of a difference it makes it you freeze or don't freeze the bananas.
3.
I just had this for a mid-afternoon snack and it was delicious! Mine wasn't quite as thick though - I used fresh bananas! But it was still yummy :)
4.
I finally got around to buying almond butter. Yay! I will freeze my bananas tonight! Thank you so much for this recipe! It sounds like it will help me when my cravings overpower me. :)
5.
thank you achin70 for the info (you have the same first name as my brother)...in glancing at your recipes i guess you know what goes with cacao! thank you for the compliment mallorymoore707...i wish i started eating this way at 17...i think its the nicest gift you can give yourself.
6.
I had this this morning!! It was great, thanks!!

rawk 'n rawl: For creaminess, you can try avocado or durian. Young coconut (the meaty kind) can be used too. Papaya and mango are probably second shelf choices. All these choice are simpatico w/cacao! :)

hi everyone! thanks for the input...as far as the taste, i may have just gotten used to it but i really dont notice the banana.you could adjust the other flavors to your liking,or add a spoon of cinnamon as i sometimes do in place of cocoa.
9.
That was awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!Yum
10.
Does this have a real banana taste? I am so tired of my ice cream and smoothies tasting like a dumb old banana. I like em, but it is getting really tiresome.

i made my shake tonight with almond butter (never done that before) and it is amazing! Thanks for the recipe :)
13.
Oh, and I love your pic! :)

Ooh, ginger! Wow! I make mine waaay more chocolatey, too, but I never thought of tahini or almond butter, that sounds a lot easier than blending up the nuts. :)
15.
oh, i add sesame seeds instead of tahini in most recipes that call for it (since it's getting ground up anyway). that freshest tahini you never have to make (or buy). sorry that wasn't clearer.

Pianissima - "so much cheaper" sounds great. What do you substitute the sesame seeds for and what result do they give?
17.
i discovered last night that you can add sesame seeds to "batter recipes" like these. so much cheaper and has the same result.
looks yummy.
ginger is also lovely in these (if you like ginger, which i do)

That's a lot like the stuff I make!! I use three organic frozen bananas, two heaping tablespoons of organic cocoa powder, two tablespoons of agave, and a dash of sea salt. YUM. <3
