warm almond milk
rich, creamy, warm beverage with the taste of halva
....and a great way to use the nut pulp:)
¼ cup sprouted almonds
¼ cup whole brown sesame seeds, soaked a few hours, rinsed and drained
12 ounce
fresh water, warmed to 100 degrees
¼ teaspoon ground cardamom
3 pitted medjool dates, soaked until soft
1.place all ingredients in bullet or blender
2.blend until creamy and white
3.strain through nut milk bag
:)
inspired by roshi’s badam ka halva- thanks rishiFromRoshis:)
shown pictured with individual halva,i used mamoul cookie molds but they can be easily made by pressing into candy molds:)
the second picture shows my favorite way to use the pulp from this recipe.
simply dehydrate (right in the nutmilk bag!) and use as a granola type of crumb topping, you can add some more
sweetener and cardamom or cinnamon if you like…this plate has banana, strawberries, chopped figs, sprinkled with the ‘halva granola’ and an extra dash of cardamom:)
i use a fine mesh strainer to strain sesame seeds:) you can find this type of strainer in larger stores…i have a really small one, for recipes like this, and a medium size.

How do you personally, drain the sesame? I have a hard time not loosing the seeds. If I use a cheesecloth type material to catch it, alot still sit on the cloth, which get dropped when I go to scrape them off. I love sesame, but they produce a great deal of woe. I haven't been soaking them much recently. Bad, I know.

That halva looks really good. So does this milk. I should try it some time.
