Mmmm… a hearty breakfast, and so tasty. Can add in nuts like pecans, walnuts, or fruit.
Ingredients:
1 cup soaked buckwheat
8 soaked dates
1 apple, peeled, cored and diced
2
tablespoon shredded unsweetened coconut
cinnamon and nutmeg to taste
1 cup almond milk, best if room temperature or warmed
¾ cup raisins
Preparation:
1. Put everything in a blender of food processor, or Champion juicer with blank plate.
2. Adjust the ingredients to your taste.
3. You
can add bananas or other soaked dried fruit and nuts.

kasha is roasted buckwheat. Buckwheat groats are raw buckwheat with hulls removed.
From what I've read, the fagopyrin is only there once the sprout grows into a green (buckwheat lettuce). I've eaten loads of sprouted buckwheat (with just a little tail) and never had any adverse reaction.

I know I got really sick once my eyes burned and hives after eating 1 lb an dthen 1/2 lb later
3.
Just a reminder, sprouted buckwheat can be dangerous, soaking is okay but sprouting can cause buckwheat groats to release a toxin called fagopyrin, which can lead to pink rashes and sunlight sensitivity. http://www.gillesarbour.com/buckwheat.php

Dear k8lyn07,
Do you use buckwheat with the hull off it, or unhulled?
And, how do you sprout hulled buckwheat?
Thanks a bundle :)
