Easy Chocolate Pudding
Serves 1-2
This is SOOOO Amazing! It makes an incredible pudding by itself. Or put it in a nut date crust for a quick, easy & Delicious chocolate pie – like in the picture.
Ingredients
- 1 Avocado
- 2 tablespoons Cacao Powder (or finely ground cacao nibs)
- 6 Medjool Dates, Pitted - use up to 12 depending on how sweet you want it.
- Water, Just enough to keep everything moving in the blender
Preparation
Put about 1/4 cup water in vitamix or other high power blender. Put in Avacado & blend slowly until nice & creamy. Blend in Cacao Powder & Dates (adding extra water as needed to keep things moving) Add more dates if needed to adjust sweetness. Blend until smooth & creamy! ENJOY!

Yum! This looks SO good! I’m making this tomorrow when I can pick up an avocado.

Hi OceanBliss, I’ve made this several times. It really satisfies my deep chocolate hunger. Hope you enjoy it as much as I do!

I found I needed to add about 3/4 cups of water and some almond milk to get this right. Next time I’ll try the FP instead of the Vita-mix. Oh, we also threw in some agave syrup.

I can’t believe i just made this – i’ve always been against using my avacado’s for anything other than eating and making guacamole :) But, i just made this (in the fridge chilling as i type) and i actually liked it! I only used 1/2 an avacado cuz i didn’t want to waste any. 1/2 an avacado is probably close to a single serving! I used 2 dates, a squirt of agave, carob powder and a lot of water (probably a 1/2 cup). It is very good! Thanks for posting! Oh, and i had some Chocolate Extract on hand so i put some of that in there too. I can’t believe how close this tastes to the real thing! Wow! If only Jell-O knew about this :)

i did not have any dates (gotta get some!) so I used agave instead. I have quite a sweet tooth so I used about 4-5 tablespoons of it. but it satisfied that sweet tooth!

I am new to raw, can you tell me how to make the “pastry” base?
lollygagger_73@yahoo.com writes: (May 20, 2008)
I just made this. For the pastry I used: 1 cup almonds, I cup coconut and 1 cup agave.

Mmmm, I want to make this soon.

this is the first recipe from this site that i’ve tried. it was so good – my boyfriend even liked it. he probably wouldn’t have liked it anymore if i had told him there were avocados in it, though. :) s

What luck stumbling upon this lovely recipe & having all the items in my pantry : ) Sounds bomb, and is cute too.

frangipanni – I usually make the pastry base with pecans or walnuts (their oiliness resembles a pastry the most – but you can use other nuts too with or without the addition of coconut oil for the oiliness). for 4-5 small servings I use 2 cups of nuts (ground up in a food processor), 6 dates (added to the nuts & ground up), and 2 Tablespoons of coconut flakes (added to the nuts & dates & processed a few seconds to combine). Then just press it into a bowl & add the pudding! I get my coconut from wilderness family naturals dot com, because it is low temperature dried, so truly raw. The kind from the healthfood store has been heated too hot & makes my teeth hurt.
