wow. this went staight in the recipe box. have you ever used another nut besides cashew?
lilmzmoyer@yahoo.com writes: (March 01, 2008)
Yes, pine nuts did work well too, and so did mac nuts.

Beautiful! What is date paste? and what can I substitute for walnuts?
rawclaire writes: (March 01, 2008)
angie – date paste is simply dates that have been pureed in a food processor or blender to a paste. I think as a substitute for walnuts, you could use a combination of almonds and pecans. They together seem to work well in place of walnuts. I’m sure your son is gonna love this recipe! Great job creating this lilmzmoyer!

woah…this looks AMAZING! thanks, i’ll definitely be making this!
lilmzmoyer@yahoo.com writes: (March 02, 2008)
you are right angie, date paste is just that. And yes, again, almonds and/or pecans work great too…..:) My 8yr old can’t get enough, for that matter neither can my hubby. I sell the heck out of them too. :) Thanks and Enjoy! :) (it’s very easy and quick to make too)

I don’t have any vanilla bean, Can I just use vanilla extract?
rawclaire writes: (March 02, 2008)
I do think the vanilla bean could be substituted with vanilla extract, shouldn’t matter that much! :)
pianissima writes: (March 02, 2008)
rawclaire- it looks like there is liquid in the vanilla part anyway, so however much liquid you get from the extract you could subtract it from the water measurement. (just a thought)

To lilmzmoyer@yahoo.com, which amount of maple syrup goes with the white layer and which one goes with the red layer?
smarinalee writes: (March 02, 2008)
THis looks GREAT!
RawKarateGirl writes: (March 02, 2008)
Thank you!
angie writes: (March 03, 2008)
qdee, it looks like the amounts of maple syrup are listed with the other ingredients in each layer – the amount under the strawberries seems to go in the red layer.
This looks sooooo GOOD!!!!
lilmzmoyer@yahoo.com writes: (March 03, 2008)
Thanks angie, that is correct about the maple syrup, and yes, I have used vanilla extract when I did not have vanilla bean, and then I use 1tsp. :) Robin :)

Hi Nyuszi, yes, I am a raw/vegan gourmet chef. Are you? I can’t wait to try your creation of the peanutbutter cookies! they look and sound FABULOUS!! :)
nenufar07 writes: (March 03, 2008)
I can’t believe that’s raw! Definitely going to give it a try! When you say put the cashews in the juicer to create a butter, do you mean just chucking them in after they have been soaked? We have a Soyabella to make nut milks and what is leftover from the cashews after making the milk, could that be used in this recipe to make the butter?
lilmzmoyer@yahoo.com writes: (March 05, 2008)
I’m not for sure. I soak the cashews and then run them through my samson juicer, using the nut butter blank plate. But before I had one of those juicers I use to just run them in my blender tell smooth…....:)
angie writes: (March 05, 2008)
I am drooling over this one – thanks!
FlyingPen writes: (July 15, 2008)
Is there a way to get around the homogenization step? For instance, if I start with roasted cashews to begin with, can I just soak those to cheat a bit. I’m not sure why its consequential since it’s frozen anyway. Anyone?
