1/4 cup chips

rich dark chocolate chips

Ingredients

  • ⅛ cup coconut oil
  • 1 teaspoon light agave
  • 1 teaspoon cocoa powder, heaping
  • ⅛ cup cocoa butter, grated, packed to measure

Preparation

1.mix coconut oil, cocoa powder and agave.

2.melt cocoa butter in small bowl set inside a larger bowl of hot water until melted.

3.mix into coconut oil ,cocoa powder and agave.(i have seen other chocolate recipes add a pinch of salt and a dash of vanilla at this point).

4.when it is the texture of hot fudge, spoon into piping bag or squeezable chocolate mold painter fitted with #3 (for mini-chips) or larger tip.

5.pipe onto parchment or waxed paper .

6.chill till firm.store in fridge.

I’m sure i don’t have to tell you all the things you can do with them!

I have also made this using a plastic food storage bag.spoon chocolate into a bottom corner of the bag, twist top of bag over mixture, and hold from there.cut off a very tiny corner of the bag,and squeeze gently to form chips.

note:use all cocoa butter(1/4 cup) for a harder chip.

I make this all the time. SO good! But wouldn’t these just melt into the cookies as you dehydrated them?

Yes but they would solidify as they cooled.

Yes but they would already be melted into the cookies….more like chocolate swirl cookies.

hi,xmetalgirl805x…i used two bowls, one small, one a little larger…set the small bowl inside the larger one…i put the cocoa butter in the small bowl, and pour very warm water in the larger bowl, like a double boiler, stir till melted..hope that helps:)

Hi Evergreen

In the past, I have made a similar recipe myself… and used it in Ice “Cream” and the chips are still chewy in the frozen dessert… very nice!
