Makes approximately 2 dozen

Finally! A raw treat all 3 of the picky kids loved!!

Ingredients

  • 2 Bananas
  • ½ Lg Container of Strawberries
  • 2 tablespoons Agave Nectar
  • 1 cup Raw Cashews, chopped
  • ⅛ cup Sprouted Quinoa, (Optional)

Preparation

The sprouted quinoa was the only thing that wasn’t just right in the cupboard. I added it for extra protein, but it’s optional. You can sprout it quickly, by just soaking for 8 hours, then when you rinse it, you can already see their tails! I put them in the refrigerator after rinsing and they continued to sprout.

Basically I just threw all the ingredients into a food processor and blended it well. I will say, the cashews I chopped first, to point to nearly butter. After it’s all mixed well, I dropped them onto teflex sheets and dehydrated them overnight. In the morning, flip them over onto the normal drying sheets for another 6-8 hours. I left them soft for the kids. Hope your kids approve!

These look yummy! I LOVE strawberry-banana and so does my mom (who might eat something raw if I don’t tell her ;-D) . What temperature did you dehydrate them at? Is there a ‘base’ temperature for cookies and such?

Wow, this sounds like a great idea to serve to my non-raw friends.

Thanks! I had them dehyrating at 110 degrees. I don’t think it has to be specific, it will just change the length of time it takes. I generally try to stay below 118.

how do you chop raw cashews to a butter consistency by hand?

Actually, I used a my coffee grinder. A food processor would be good. Thanks.
