Banana Recipes
This is a heavenly sweet and creamy smoothie for hot summer days.
My first green smoothie recipe to make! Very yummy and energizing. My favorite fruit smoothie was always Strawberry Banana with a bit of orange, so I added the spinach and it was a winner! This smoothie keeps well overnight in the fridge for a great ‘to go’ breakfast.
This smoothie is so filling and delicious! Full of omegas and proteins! I made it for the first time today and it was a great start to my morning. It’s kind of a more substantial version of my Fortifying Banana Milk, see my recipes.
This is one of my favorite things to eat. When I started going raw, I was so glad that I could still have this. I don’t know what is so great about it, the taste(although not the ideal food combining :) combinations are just so good to me.
This is soooo good when I am craving ice cream. I know, it’s very simple, but I am working on getting more adventurous with uncooking. I love to be in the kitchen and prepare food, but right now I am a little short on equipment and ingredients. I can’t wait to get going in this raw food adventure and get creative here. Anyway, about the recipe. It makes a perfect individual serving and it’s so simple and delicious!!!!
Modified from hannah.hunnicutt’s recipe, “Patriotic Pops”. I looked at my family’s box of ‘real’ Bomb Pops in the freezer and decided to make some changes to the recipe as I was throwing it together. Turned out great!
I had a bag full of plums from my farmer’s market that were going to go bad soon, so I wanted to use them up. Came up with this yummy snack! This would make a divine fruit leather, as well, I imagine.
I wanted something different for breakfast, so I began rummaging through my fridge and realized that I still had some figs in the back (picked up a basket at the LOCAL market! Yay for local figs!!!), and a jar of some banana milk, too! I decided to change my old recipe of PB, yogurt, and sunflower seeds, to a better version with mylk instead!
This is a very simple recipe. Really tasty banana bread, a very nice treat. It was kind of an experiment (I was looking for ways to get rid of my excess almond meal) and it turned out perfectly! You may choose to add a 1/4 cup of cacao nibs or coconut, I didn’t try to but I thought it might be a good addition. I spread some almond butter on top as an icing, which made the dessert taste just right. Unfortunately I don’t own a dehydrator so I cheat a little by having the oven on very low heat with the door open. It came out nicely after a few hours.
Remember making Cornflake cakes when you were a kid? Make them again!
I have used dehydrated slices of bananas to resemble Cornflakes and mixed them with raw chocolate to make a raw version of Cornflake cakes.
Super easy to make and fun. Someone gets to lick the bowl afterwards!
It’s good for kids to help with. They can lay the banana on the dehydrator, crush up the dehydrated slices, help melt the chocolate, mix it all up and spoon the mixture into the cake cups.
These cakes are great for parties.
A smoothie in green I call Maca Machine! This smoothie contains a powerhouse of nutrients and is extremely high in potassium – vital to electrolyte function. Maca has been used for hormonal balance, sexual stamina, mental health, clarity and wellness, etc. I have been using it for mental health and seen wonderous results. This smoothie is sweet, filling, nutritious and will GET YOU GOING! Energy to the extreme! This is not a power smoothie, this is a super-cala-raw-alicious-ex-pe-ala-docious smoothie!!! Be daring, get your MACA on!
I sprouted WAY too many buckwheat sprouts and I was looking for a way to use them up. I was also working at the Hospitality Kitchen and they needed people to take the extra bananas. Naturally, I volunteered. (Who could let bananas go to waste?!) Anyways, I wound up with tons of bananas that were perfectly ripe and won’t last that much longer. So I put the buckwheat and bananas together with a little vanilla, agave, and spice and it turned out a lot better than I expected.
A spiced variation of the traditional banana & nut butter smoothie. :)
Here is an indulgent and delicious way of getting those greens in you. This is both the yummiest and healthiest chocolate shake ever! Keeps you full and energised for ages.
Do not drink close to bedtime unless you want to stare at the ceiling. The cacao can give you a real buzz!
