Desert Recipes

This is sooo good! it tastes like something really really bad for you, which is always sinfully good.

Chewy sesame cookies, yay! :o) I needed something sweet to take to school, since the candy machines have been calling to me lately. I just made these today, and didn’t measure… the measurements below are estimates, so taste before you dehydrate!!

Maca makes it like a malted flavor, the Carob plus Vanilla, gives it a hint of caramel. Frozen coconut and bananas which are a staple in our freezer, give it a real old fashioned ice cream milk shake feel without the nasty milk and cream of course! I had no need for added agave or sweetener. These are all just perfect level of sweetness for us here! IT was BRUNCH today and only one vitamixer to rinse and clean up.

These taste just like the Easter chocolate I used to get but they are healthy! Sorry, I don’t know the measurements, just do what feels right.

I actually got the idea for this drink from a recipe I found through the Sunny Raw Kitchen site. The recipe was called “Best Coffee Ever”. It was very good, but a little too thick, and strong. So, I made some changes after many trial and errors with the recipe. I finally came up with this rendition, which I truly found delicious! I hope you do too.

One note: I recommend you use “heaping” scoops of the raw cacao powder, and heaping tablespoons of the raw carob. It’s okay to use a little more of both then not.

Another recipe I found on www.welikeitraw.com Very very Tasty and just what I was looking for to help my cravings for warm coffee in the morning. You can also make the instant cashew milk from raw almond butter or any seed or nut butters. I also made a chai verson with chai tea bags. The variations are endless, I’m going to try it with some organic cocoa. PERFECT!!!!!

A deserving, delectable desert! I paired mine with chocolate-mint tea (water and chocolate mint leaves from my garden – you can brew it in the sun or serve warm). It would also be wonderful with a small glass of nutmilk or coconut water. This desert is very easy to make. Treat yourself to this fast and fabulous finger food!!! Also great for hot dates, makes a sexy sweet!

This is wonderful tasty desert that you can enjoy anytime. It takes great! Very chocolatey!

Baklava_thumb

Tempted by buried memories of eating conventional Baklava, I had to duplicate it in raw version to satisfy my desires and after looking at Baklava pictures online, I came to this combination! The measurements are approximate, but the concept is to roll the date-pistachio mixture inside cashew-agave sheets.

The sweetness of the crust, strawberries, and the mango goes well with the sourness of the kiwi. very tasty.

Cranberries_thumb

This is a lightly sweet creamy smoothie that kind of reminds me of blueberry but not quite. I think it would also be good with blue berries added to make a really awesome blueberry smoothie or ice cream. I also think it would be good with a little anise added, but I haven’t tried these yet.

Scarlet breakfast treats…. delectably sweet. Good to serve to non-raws.

Carob-raising-fudge_thumb

(Adapted from www.therawtable.com) I found the original recipe at www.therawtable.com but I adapted it. I used carob powder (no cocoa) and added maca and mesquite powder for an extra rich flavor. I was amazed by the result when using carob, mesquite and maca powder. It is like a carobe brownie mixture. It is delicious, sweet, not to sweet, and creamy flavor. One even does not notice it contains raisings. I found this mixture also could be used as a pie crust. I was hesitant to use walnuts, as the recipe calls for, because I find then to have a strong flavor, but it does not taste to walnuts at all. The flavors of this recipe blend very well into a one flavor mixture.
