Well, I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but we've been having more and more problems with the forums, culminating in their basically being completely broken as of this past week. Since we've just given birth to a darling daughter, recovery of the discussions is presently just not possible.
So I'm going to be honest with you. The forums are gone. We've taken them off the site for now, and I'm not going to promise something that I can't deliver, so I'm not going to tell you that they're coming back.
There may be other features in the future to replace them, I don't know. I do know that we want to spend what little time we have with Gone Raw keeping the recipes going, and they do need some help. That is the #1 focus of Gone Raw. More importantly, Kandace and I want to spend time with our little one, so we have to be honest about what we can do here.
That's all I can say right now, but we'll try to keep you posted if things change. Again, sorry about the bad news, but I hope you understand. Feel free to vent in the comments here if you need to!!!
One other thing I should mention. I am keeping the information in the "database" on Gone Raw - I'm not totally removing what's there. So you may still be able to search for information in the forums, and possibly even continue discussions that have already been started. The important point is that we are not supporting the forums going forward, and they may disappear without a trace at any point in the future, without notice!
If I had to choose between recipes and forums, I would choose recipes! I agree that the recipes have needed a little help lately. I hope we can still discuss recipe particulars in the comments.

Thanks. We'll definitely keep recipe comments around, and I do hope to improve the recipe features more, since we have so very many great recipes on here. Just haven't had the time to do that.
And there are other features we might drop in to replace the forums, we just had so many problems we weren't able to recover and present the ones we have. Stay tuned.
By the way, I meant that we needed to add more recipes, not that you needed to work on the recipe features more! I've noticed over the last few months that users were on the forums more and posting recipes less than when I first got on. In the past there were lots of new recipes daily, whereas now some days there aren't any.
OK, UPDATE! Never mind. I was just able to recover the entire forums. I'm putting them back for now, and eating my words.
Now to change a diaper. :)

I, for one, will be sad if and when the forums are discontinued. I've learned a lot and my thinking has expanded through the discussions. However, life goes on and change is inevitable.
I second that sadness. The forums here were wonderful.
I am glad recipes are before forums, but better than that I am glad for your happy news of a little one.
Things will work out, even if it a work in the makings for the website.
Just to clarify, the forums are not going away. We just had a rough morning. I'm very glad that you find them so helpful!

Question. It used to be we could go in to profiles and find all the recipes they have submitted. I
truely miss that. Am I just not getting it or is there a way to put that back?

Okay, I found it. Just hit track.
I am happy the forums will stay. I learn so much from them and looking up answers to problems I have. The recipes are not so important to me as I do not use many. I have some that I love but some are just to complicated for my needs and some are just ooooo, I still have very picky taste buds. But then that is just me. Thanks Ray!!!
