I've been struggling for, well, EVER to find a "treat" that will satisfy my chocolate cravings that seem unabated despite doing "all the right things" in terms of foods to eat that should get rid of sweets cravings. I've even worked with both a naturopath and acupuncturist! Tonight, I hit on this tea that is so simple, I'm shocked I hadn't considered trying it before. It definitely helped curb my craving tonight, when the raw chocolate mousse I made from a recipe in the cafe Gratitude recipe book and the accompanying raspberry cashew cream topping was shouting my name from the fridge (I already ate enough today!). In my efforts to make the raw chocolate halvah, I realized I was super low on cocoa powder, ouch! Fortunately, however, I've decided bumps in the road like that are perfect opportunities to get creative so I started experimenting with some other ingredients until I had something worth eating! I started adding vanilla, then threw in some coconut oil, plus the little bit of cocoa powder that I did have. The nutty sesame flavor mixed with the chocolate, coconut, and vanilla give these little "truffles" a malted chocolate flavor that really surprised (and delighted) me. Definitely a successful endeavor, enjoy!
