Just adding to the multitude of peary smoothies. This one filled me with such joy this morning I had to post it just so I don’t forget about it. The coconuts I use are hugo and have at least 2 cups of water in them. I meant to add a frozen banana too but didn’t and am glad as it would have overpowered the delicate peary goodness.
This is a great smoothie to start off your day. I’m not a huge fan of green smoothies, but I really enjoy this one! Two of the few non vegan things I like to indulge in are raw honey and bee pollen. Bee pollen only for its incredible protein and vitamin content.
When I add it to a smoothie (it goes really well with this one in particular) I usually throw in a tablespoon.
Blend or Juice this tasty drink that will knock some powerful energy into your body (hence the name Pow! Green Juice)
Since there aren’t many green foods that I can get my niece to consume, I decided to make her a green smoothie. If I had told her that I was giving her fruit with a green leafy vegetable, well, I’ll put it this way…she ain’t even tryin’ to hear it! So I made the drink and served it to her without her seeing what I was doing. The smoothie turned purple, so I gave it a fun name, which seems to work for children these days. Afterall, they do eat GREEN catchup, why not a purple smoothie called a purple dinosaur. I should’ve named it Barney, but I wasn’t sure how she’d like drinking a Barney…lol! Anyway, since mâche are so tender and have such a delicate flavor, the strawberries masked it very well, and I was able to add quite a bit. She asked no questions as to why it was purple. Perhaps she thought I added berries…ha ha ha. She just drank it then kept playing her video game. ;-) I’ll put up a photo the next time I make one.
NOTE: MEASUREMENTS ARE SET TO YOUR LIKING
NOTE: WHEN YOU ASK FOR MÂCHE IN THE STORE, IT IS PRONOUNCED Mosh. BUT SOME PRONOUNCE IT “Mah-shay” BUT I’M NOT SURE THAT’S CORRECT. Mâche is a baby lettuce. Romaine lettuce substitutes very well or you can use baby spinach.
A very easy to drink juice! Not too much sugar and not overly ‘green’ tasting. Makes a nice looking light green juice.
