This is my very first green smoothie!!! I am still having trouble getting down green juices and also needed something more filling so this is great for beginners like me who’d like to have a “green drink” in the morning!
I used to LOVE sauteed spinach with lemon, garlic and topped with almonds (well..I am transitioning so still do ;). Here is a version I made in a blender and added cucumber, avocado (my favorite food), and an apple to sweeten (I used granny smith for color but you can use another one for more sweetness). With the exception of the apple, this smoothie combines all alkalizing foods andmakes a delicious filling smoothie. Just make sure you have breath mints if ya drink this away from home due to the garlic ;)
Today is everything about going green. We are here also on top of the movement! ;)
YEAH! i was obsessing over spanakopita, a greek pie of spinach and feta cheese wrapped in phyllo dough, for weeks and have developed a pretty close substitute. thanks to kandace and poemmom for providing base recipes with which to work.
