We have finally found a way to make raw rice! The secret is not to use rice at all, but raw, soaked oat groats. You can buy the raw oat groats in bulk or bagged packaging. They look just like brown rice. Soak them for 24 hours and follow the recipe! It is amazing how much this tastes like a rice dish, and satisfies just like rice too. However, the germinated oats give you a ton of energy, which of course cooked rice does not. The men in my family love this recipe as it is high in protein!
This is a recipe from my recipe book that I am working on. It is in the preliminary stages now - figuring out all the exact amounts, picture taking, etc. so I'm not sure when I'll be finished, but I'll keep y'all posted! I was very surprised when I tasted this salsa the first time I made it. It is so simple and yet ssooo delicious! The pineapple sauce and stuffed mushrooms are inspired by therawchef.com This is a perfect meal when you are in the mood for bbq. One of my favorite meals my mom used to make was pasta salad, now I have a healthier raw version! The stuffed mushrooms taste just like the ones out of the oven except more flavor and the marinated zucchini, mushrooms, red bell peppers, and pineapple had more flavor then I could imagine! This will be added to my meals at least once a week! For more recipes visit my blog http://amandanicolesmithrecipes.blogspot.com/
