Hi all. Just embarking on the raw path. Started transitioning at the beginning of January. Just about got to raw except dinner so far. Basically just got to grips with a range of smoothies and lots of salads so nothing too clever yet. Lots of things sprouting on the windowsill and adding to my stock of ingredients all the time. Really enjoying it so far. Thanks for letting me come hang out with some experts.

Im so excited about this, because just about every time i start something, i always fail to stick to it, especially when it comes to my diet.
So, this will be interesting for me, and being on this forum will hopefully keep me motivated.
Also, i used to be very slim, and worked out a lot because i was in sports, but i quit (no surprise there, lol), and now ive gained about 30 lbs. :(
Im hoping to lose it, and keep it off with this new raw food thing, and get back in shape.

I started the raw journey for three months in 2010. I lost 17lbs and felt great. Since stopping, I gained it all back. I miss the results and how good it made me feel; & now I am going to attempt to eat raw for 2011. I have a few recipes from that three month period, so it is not so overwhelming as before. I hope to share them and gain some new ones here.
With the end of the year approaching and a fresh new one on the way, I figured I'd officially get an early kick start on my venture towards a healthier lifestyle and raw diet!
I must say I haven't always been too kind to my poor body, eating and drinking anything and everything without reflection. Over a year or so ago, I finally made a choice: to take better care of myself. I was mostly working in bars and restaurants at the time. This translated mostly into poor eating, drinking, and sleeping habits. Left that scene and though it may seem minor, it was probably the biggest jump towards my journey to a healthier, more balanced lifestyle.
I discovered Bikram yoga last year. I fell in love! The feeling I got after every class was euphoric! Suddenly, I became a health fanatic. I dedicated myself 100%, cutting out all processed foods, caffeine and alcohol. It felt great. This worked out for a little while, but unfortunately somewhere along the way I fell off the health wagon.
So, I'm back! I've got my gym membership, my yoga classes booked, my fridge stocked with fresh greens!...All I need now is the right direction and inspiration I'm hoping to find from this online Raw Food community. I have been following a vegetarian diet for about 5 months now. Unfortunately, when I first started, I lost a lot of hair (scary!) from improper nutrition. How ironic! I will be making it a fact to learn as much as a can from you guys in order to do this the proper, healthiest, and tastiest way! :)
Pleased to be on this venture with others who are on the same path to healthy living! Very motivating and inspiring!
Hi, I finally found this website... I think I've attempted to go raw in one form or another since 2006... I've successfully been vegan (mostly) since April of this year... and I'm ready to make the step to raw now, with support. I only could go vegan with online support, so I'm assuming it will surely be the same for me with this even bigger step of trying to go raw. I think the most I've ever gone eating only raw is 24 hrs, don't know why it's so hard, hoping online support will reap rewards.
