Topic: Other Stuff / Intelligent Christians using common sense...

hey beany beegan long time no see :P the point was that altho many people via their faiths can give love, as you say “love through god”, we need to be free to give that love willingly without a religion telling us we have to. love given out of duty will never have the same heart reaching effects as love given willingly and freely. the people who are joining the dinosaur club come from many different walks of life, most non religous, some from different religions, differnt people with one goal, to make it better. this is not a religion, it is not a church, there is no god involved, no idol, there is no money involved, just pure goodwill and love to help the people, the creatures, the enviroment, the souls and hearts of every single part of this planet that we can. why do we need a god to do this, and there is no reason why any religion should feel threatened by this club, we arent trying to discredit or bring down the churches, we are just trying to mend stuff that has been broken and then make sure it stays like that.

God is love. Jesus is love. The Christians great commission is to love one another, tho maybe not their ways. Christians are learning and growing in there faith. We will not all be at the same level in our love. Some may find it even hard to love some people, but years down the road they learn that they can love through God. We are just people. Some rich, some not so. Some with great learning and skills, some not so much. A true Christian does not hate or condemn, but we do not have to agree. Personally I don’t understand what this whole forum is about but thought I would jump in as I see much confusion about Christians.

Caleb, of course its not taken the wrong way, i was raised around christians, my sister is a christian as is her family, they see me as a threat as my life style isnt in keeping with their faith so they dont see me, speak to me, and i have never been allowed to see my own nephew. my sister, and all of the churches she has belonged to over the years, church of england, baptist, and relevelation church have all denied teh existance of dinosaurs to me and put forward the trickster god as a reason, so you can see, altho your church of christians do believe in dinosaurs many others dont, two differnt beliefs (far more but we will say two to keep it brief) from the same group of people. christianity seems to take many guises so its hard to keep track who believes what

the religion part, religion involves an idol or a god or a figure, the dinosaur dance club is no more a religion than a cookery club or the red cross, we are a group of people with a common interest, peace. we want to make this world a better place to live in without having to pretend we are doing it for a god or idol, to do something because you feel you have to is always less rewarding for all concerned, to do something positive directly from your heart becasue you want to and you care, then that is something that is really felt. its not an obligation, it is a choice to make a difference.

Caleb, i hope you have a beautiful day, and if you see a tramp give them something, even if it is just a smile, but dont follow it up with god bless you, when people say that to me its not them i hear saying it its their christianity, i dont want people passing on a good word from something that may or may not exist, i want to hear people passing on good words to me from themselves, heart felt feelings from them, that THEY care, whether god exists or not is irrelevent to that end, the love and peace and mending has to come from us, we are here, we actually caused most of the mess, its up to us to clear it up without involving religion.

Fee i would be honoured if you did, if simple words can make a difference then please feel free to do so. how old are the children you teach? welcome btw :)

1sweetpea, you are so right, love and respect for one another are the only things that can save this planet, i wont say just save us as the destruction we strew with our wars and pollution and lack of compassion is far far more reaching than only our own pitiful race. we have to look at each other, the others here, the world, see the damage we have caused, and start to mend it, together, as one. we need to show by example how easy a brotherhood of love can be. welcome to you too 1sweetpea, together we can build a better world

Aspire, all dreams and ideas start small like this, and build momentum until they become a reality, its the passion of people who care enough about this world and its occupants (and beyond) that need to keep pushing the healing, without us pushing there would be no momentum and the idea of a better world would remain just that, an idea. the smallest push will cause some movement, but imagion how fast this healing wheel could turn with many many people pushing it. The damage to our fellow man is huge, BUT in time if people work together that can be reversed, hearts can be filled with hope again, thank you so much for joining aspire

Bella, thank you for accepting my friendship request, im glad you like the pictures, i often feel some kind of camera inbuilt would be so much easier for me, i see so much beauty at every turn that i want to photograph everything!!! i have nearly 12,000 in the collection, did you look at my website too? (you cant tell i like people looking at my work can you) :D cant wait to see your recipes, me like foooooood!

Blue_Eyes you are counted, you are in the healing number, and thank you for wanting to be there. Everybody is guilty of being judgmental, it is what we do with that thought when it enters our head that matters, ive made some comments myself in the past that as soon as the words have left my mouth i realise what a horrible person ive been. I think when these thoughts enter our head we need to slow down the reactive process, work out what it is that is making us think like that, and then look at it from a compassionate angle. there is always a compassionate view that can be achieved if we just lose our belief that we have the right to judge others for being different to us. concentrating on the good is somthing we can all do with practise, i hope you soak up so much love here you develop a love leak and that love will flow from you and flow over people who come in contact with you, not because a religion tells you too, but because love is contagious, like a laugh, love carries farther than the eye can see.

at a later date i shall open a new website to help us to run the dinosaur dance club together, there will be lots of brainstorming to try and figure out small ways we can make a difference in the world. my dream is that oneday there will be a worldwide network of people who will be able to help the people in their area, if people know of others in need but cant get to them to help others will be able to do if via the network etc. everyone is welcome just to come for a word of wisdom or a peacefull place to be, but any that can spare time or emotion to help out hands on with humanitarian issues, animal protection, enviromental work etc will be needed too if we are going to make this work. I envisage it will take a long time, but i know there are millions of people like us out there, who are determined to make a difference

This planet belongs to all of us, and by all of us i dont just mean mankind. I say it is time we tell the destroyers that we wont take it anymore. A home is somewhere we can feel safe, and comforted, and relaxed. we can start by little things like picking up litter when you see it and putting it in a bin, not feeding the ducks in the park bread etc that will do them more harm than good, buy seed or grain if you want to help them. take a cup of tea to the guy that is sitting freezing begging on the pavement, take a blanket if you have one. i used to put together packs from dontated things, a coat, gloves, scarf, hat, blanket, and a packet of biscuits or summit, and take them to spots in the city where i know homeless peopless go for shelter, its so easy just to do something that seems so small to us, but that single act of kindness has an effect, the butterfly effect of love. beat your butterfly wings my friends, stomp your dinosaur feet, and lets start causing love waves

((((((hugs)))))))

Topic: Being Raw / October 811

I am very much interested in 811. Recently I have been struggling with my diet, even staying raw, and would really like to go back to how I felt when I was eating mostly fruit. I have been really stressed with school, my community, and have been eating high-fat raw. What would you eat on an average day? Could you all provide a list? How much do you exercise? I am a 5’4” girl, 110 pounds, and I lead a very active lifestyle.

Topic: New to Raw / Anybody else find "raw" time-consuming and "difficult"?

It is time consuming & difficult, but I’m hoping that it’ll be worth it. All I have is a disgusting, moldy, rusty blender that’s older than I am, & I don’t even want it touching my food. I had a Jack Laine (sp?) juicer, but I won’t go into what happened with that…wasn’t good, never again. Sure there might be better models, but let’s face it, I’m a broke college student LOL. I look at all the raw food recipes and drool, but then I look at all the ingredients/appliances/time required, and I’m just like, fuhgettaboutit. So I just eat whole fruits, like an apple here, a peach there, and my HUGE “elaborate” meal is a salad with just lettuce, sliced avocado and carrots. LOL.

I can only afford the basics, so I live off of 7 apples, 7 peaches, 7 avocados, a bag of grapes, a bag of shredded carrots, and lettuce per week (1 apple a day, etc). Oh, and $4.99 olive oil is my huge splurge. LOL. I kid you not, I listed EVERYTHING I eat within one week. No more. I can’t afford the time or money for anything else. Hope it’s worth it, because I’m ALWAYS dizzy and tired…

Topic: Health & Beauty / notcicing my teeth are becoming see through

Yeah, do you eat a lot of citrus? Cause if you do, you should rinse your mouth out at least with water to get all the lingering acids out. And if you’re human enough to cheat, do you drink a lot of soda? There’s the phosphorous issue. But since you’re saying you don’t have any other major issues with your teeth, I personally wouldn’t worry. Although the tips of my teeth have been transparent my whole life, & my dentists say my teeth are strong. So your teeth may look like glass, but if they don’t chew like glass, you’re good. ;-)

Topic: Being Raw / How Can I Get Out of Bed!

Hi Deb. before going raw i was a sleepaholic. even when i did, however, i noticed that there were still the days (down days) that i’d linger under the covers with my eyes open. the usual strategies apply when dealing with unenthusiastic mornings: exercise throughout week, proper diet, and on and on. i’ve found that two things really really help me and that involve intake:

1) drink plenty of water during the night and before sleep (i found that the reason why i would refuse to get up, besides depression, was that i was dehydrated and this perpetuates dehydration)

2) and this is important: don’t eat after 6:00 p.m. i realize that it is common knowledge to not eat during late hours but, i think, as a speedy culture like we is, we bend the rules and think that not eating at least an hour before bed will suffice. i’ve found that i have more rockin’ dreams, get up to urinate around 5:00 a.m. (an hour before i wake up, which is like a lil’ preamble before i’m out of the gates), and that my body feels more liquid and less rigid and swollen, than had i eaten heavy stuff (even a banana) near sleep-time, when i in fact do wake up.

to recap: lots of water and don’t eat after 6:00 p.m. you should try this for a week and see what happens.

Hey DoDo, I have actually never heard another (or heard of one) Christian claim dinosaurs don’t exist. It would be absurd to make such a statement. Also, the way I see it it doesn’t matter if humans existed at the same time or not. It’s totally irrelevant to the faith.

Also, not sure what you meant by “if a religion is being told to believe you are an equal and walk your own path then thats what this is, altho i dont believe thats the definition of religion.”

But based on what I see here I don’t see that as a definition of religion either, it’s MUCH more complicated than that ;) But now that I think about my original question, it seems a bit dumb in light of my view of religion. I typically try to stay away from message board posts about the deeper meanings in life because I tend to not thing about things and just post. hehe. Oh well, hopefully it wasn’t taken the wrong way.

Kenny, my man, I would never, ever go to a doctor about anything that’s remotely potentially nutritionally-related.

There are 126 medical schools in the U.S., and only 30+ or so even require a single course in nutrition. Surveys have shown doctors knowing less about nutrition than your average person on the street.

You may already know more about nutrition than your doctor, or you will soon.

Most doctors with osteoporitic patients probably tell them to drink more milk or eat yogurt, not understanding that that caused the problem in the first place! Oh, don’t get me started….

Peace.

I didn’t want to get baited into this thing, but before I jump back to join the non-superstitious over in the Dinosaur Dance thread, I’ll just mention that things like “here is something that shows dinosaurs existed with humans” or the occasional single piece of “proof” that shows that all the scientists working for years searching for anything that would discredit evolution or would provide evidence (real, concrete evidence) for the existence of god are wrong are just wishful thinking.

Can you imagine the career break a scientist would have if he were able to prove something like that? Don’t think that thousands and thousands of researchers and scientists aren’t trying to do just that; don’t think many of them aren’t wishing – they would be set for life and would be as famous as Darwin.

Of course that would be historic; but, alas, ‘tis not gonna happen. Evolution is a scientific fact, and it would be a monumental undertaking to try to disprove it or discredit it. Now, before someone jumps in and says that it’s “just a theory”, be careful: There are very few “laws” in science, because science demands so much to prove something, and for something to graduate from a theory to a scientific law, it must be tested and proven beyond a doubt.

A scientific “theory” means that something is testable. Other than that, it is considered a scientific fact.

As Carl Sagan said: “To say that evolution is just a theory is like saying that the laws of gravity are just a theory.”

Anyway, yes, it has been proven, over and over again, that dinosaurs did NOT walk the earth with people. They existed millions of years apart.

I encourage everyone here to read Richard Dawkins’ The God Delusion or Sam Harris’ Letter to a Christian Nation or Dan Barker’s Losing Faith in Faith: From Preacher to Atheist. The logic is irrefutable, let alone the science. They’re great reads, too. These are enlightened people, thinkers, people who want answers, like other atheists such as, oh, Einstein, Ben Franklin, Galileo, Abraham Lincoln.

“Faith is a cop-out. If the only way you can accept an assertion is by faith, then you are conceding that it can’t be taken on its own merits.”

Blue Eyes- :)

Yes, the information is quite amazing, isn’t it?! No real words to describe it right, though. He is a blessing to us. And I, too, when first running across some of his other videos and info thought “No way, I just cannot accept that; too far out there!” But now… wow, SO true! After learning more and more.

And good for you on manifesting your new future! If enough of us FEEL (not just wish for- much different!) a new and better fufture od paradise, we will have it! It doesn’t even take as many people to undertake that in order for it to manifest, as many people would think. According to Gregg Braden and others’ work and scientific studies, it only takes one percent of the square root of a population in order for changes to manifest, which is a REALLY low number. I may be wrong on my numbers right now, but off the top of my head I think it came out to be only about 10 thousand people for a population of 6 billion. That’s all! That’s all it will take to consciously think into a new nad better future. Sounds silly to many people reading this who’ve not watched Secrets of the Matrix, or are familiar with other people who share the same ultimate- yet perhaps worded slightly differently- message (and there are quite a few out there!), but so be it.

I agree with TomsMom, just don’t bring it up. If you do choose to seek out breastmilk, look for your local birthing center or human milk bank. The Birth Center here in Sacramento is also a milk bank where breastfeeding women can donate extra pumped milk, although remember that these women are for the most part eating a SAD diet, so there is that to consider.
