So I tried mixing lucuma powder with agave, and I didn’t quite get a marshmallow. More like sweet potato puree although it definatelt tasted amazing! Am I doing something wrong?
Thank you so much queenfluff for sharing that awesome salt and vinegar potato chp recipe!!! BY ALL MEANS I ENCOURAGE EVERYBODY TO TRY THEM!!!!!!!!!!
I did a few things differently, they tasted seriously like cooked potato chips!!!
Step 1: Take as many Yukon Gold Potatoes as you can afford because you’ll be sorry if you don’t make enough of them. I certainly was. I cut them very thinly with a sharp knife, but you can use a spiralizer if you have it because this method was a lttle time consuming. They were thin little slices. Put them in a large bowl.
Step 2: Pour a few cups of raw red wine vinegar on the potato slices. You’ll need more vinegar depending on how many potatoes you cut. Queenfluff used apple cidar vinegar, but since I didn’t have that available, I used red wine vinegar. Just do what works for you. Shake some salt on them and let them soak for 1-2 hours. Longer soaking makes them more digestble, because the vinegar digests the potato starches and other things. The vinegar seems to be a key ingredient in the digestbility of the potato.
Step 3: Pour the vinegar off the potato slices. Save it if you wish, because if you make these alot, it will waste alot of vinegar. Pour 1/4 to 1/2 a cup of cold pressed raw olive oil on the slices, and toss them around a bit. Drain the oil off, as again, it will be a waste if you make these alot.
Step 4: Place the potato slices on a teflex sheet and dehydrate for 12-24 hours at 105 degrees, until crisp. I did 12 hours since I couldn’t wait, and man they turned out good.
I will post the recipe with a picture, they turn out so much looking like real potato chips! (Oh and tasting like them too!!!!)
All credit goes to queenfluff and wherever she found that recipe, this is awesome and you will be missing out if you don’t try these!!
If you buy it in the bins, yes, it is. I think you can sprout it, yes because they sell cooked sprouted brown rice in the Asian section, so that means it’s sproutable if they could sprout it. But I like to sprout wild rice and make raw rice pudding out of it!!
How do you slice a potato into very thin slices without a mandoline or other tool? I wanted to buy some potatoes to try the potato chip idea that queenfluff posted on another forum about salt and vinegar chips. All I have is a very sharp knife, is there a trick that you guys know of? Thanks!!
I need some help with making soaked dehydrated almond butter. God there’s so many amazing recipes out there with almond butter in them, I just have to get it! And my mother won’t let me buy the nut butter already made because she thinks they don’t soak the nuts enough. She can tell because they don’t seem digestibleto her. Now I can eat some dehydrated food, so I am anxious to make a nut butter as soon as possible. I have soaked and dehydrated nuts, but no food processor, only a vita-mix. But when I blend it, my mother said I have to do quick, short pulses, because she’s worried that the blender will overheat and the toxic chemicals of the vita- mix leech into the nuts. Can somebody tell me how to make a soaked and dehydrated almond butter with a VITA-MIX?? Help!!!!! Thanks!
I kandace or ray, could you fi the bug that’s preventing me from opening the BBQ “chicken” pizza recipe on this site? I click it and it says something went wrong. Thanks!!
Good Idea! When you get the Klamath Wild Blue Green Algae, make sure to get the enzyme enhanced version. The best brand I’ve are the dark glass bottles with turquoise-colored labels and a big rainbow diamond on the front.. sorry for the weird descrisption, but I know if you go to www.luckyvitamin.com and search Wild Blue Green Algae. Get the enzyme-enhanced one :)
I would post this recipe on Gone Raw, but I thinkit’s fraud to take somebody’s recipe and picture and post it on another website, so I’m just going to give you the link, it looks amazing!! You go Shannon Marie!!
My mom drinks cappucinos because she says they don’t have a bad effect on you and if you take Klamath Wild Blue Green Algae (a natural dialiser, yes, really!!) it will flush the toxic effects of coffee out. She drinks it because it helps her alot, and I even drink a little coffee myself. We just get strong cappucinos iced with alot of foam and no milk.. I know foam is milk but my mom says that it’s no where near as bad as milk, for some reason. So we go out every day for an iced bone dry cappucino and it’s great!! It all depends on how you feel about it..By the way people in the Himalayan Mountains eat a vegetarian diet mostly and are very active and drink coffee and live very long lives…so coffee obviously isn’t like eating five donuts, it’s just a little something that you can indulge in that isn’t really bad for you that much. This is just my opinion, not what I necessarily think is true.
Is there any way to tell if a young coconut is bad or just has very little meat before you open them? I always use the ones with alot of meat, so if you guys have a technique to tell how much meat a coconut has BEFORE you open would be great. I know if you look at the bottom and it’s pink, that means it’s rotten, but that’s not obviously the best way to tell because I would like to tell how much meat a coconut has. Any help?? THANKS!!!

Yes, most grocery stores do not carry cocoa butter, but you can buy it from www.rawguru.com, www.sunfood.com, and I believe www.naturalzing.com. It’s really good – used to make raw chocolate!
