This may not help with the recipes, but I did recently discover that Costco sells mixed boxes of Laurabars at a discounted price.
Is Costco one of those stores where you have to buy a membership? I think we have one here, I think the only way I could buy them at discount is if I get half off haha. They are delicious, but expensive :)
there is a recipe for a date nut torte in alissa cohen’s book. its 2 cups raisins, 2 cups walnuts, 1 cup dates and juice from half a lemon. its delicious and super easy. i shop in a coop, so its not very expensive for me to make. i don’t know how much walnuts cost in your neck of the woods.

Here’s a recipe for Lara-type bars. I love them too. I order from Fit Fuel online. You can always just put a walnut half or almond inside a date and roll it in shredded coconut. A bonus with the recipe as opposed to LaraBars is that you can soak your nuts (nothing personal). LaraBars don’t do this for longer shelf life properties. You can also use your own dehydrated fruit.

123. Thats prefect. Its exactly what I wasw thinking of :) I eat almonds and brazil nuts during lunch so adding them to the dates is great :) Thanks for the websites
I believe that dates will lose some of the sweetness when they are soaked. I haven’t tried it however. Just FYI, Lara bars are not a good way to go for the long run as they are a very poor food combination (sweet fruits with nuts).
My mom always talks about food combinations and how you should only eat certain foods with other foods, do you have a website I can look at with some info on this?
This chart is pretty good:

Yes, there is a membership fee for Costco (I have one through my business) so I’m not sure of the fee. The Larabars ended up being less than a dollar each.
