German Oasis
My non-raw husband made this as a birthday surprise for me :-)
He wanted to make something a bit exotic and middle-eastern, something sweet and tangy at the same time. The honeydew melon
and dates give a sweet touch, while the chives give a bit of spice.
This recipe was a filling and delicious surprise for me !
1 Any grain, or mixed grains (we used a mixture of wheat, rye, spelt, oats and barley , soaked for 2 days
dried dates, cut into small
pieces
2 chives, small pieces
2 tablespoon oilve oil
2 tablespoon vinegar
1 sweet bell pepper
honeydew
melon, cubed
2 stalks celery, cut diagonally
Soak the grain for two days, or as long as it takes to make them soft enough to be eaten.
Mix the olive oil, vinegar, garlic, dates and chives, and let it marinate for some time.
Cube the rest of the stuff, and mix with the grains. Add the oil-vinegar-etc mixture.
Oh, he had planned to add some cummin and cardamon but he forgot, but you can try it out

I always eat melon alone but I wanted to say how creative and delish this sounds! Thanks for your nutritious offering!
