Groovy Guacamole
2-4 people
This is a quick and tasty guacamole – you can make it in 15 minutes, and your friends won’t even know it’s raw.
Ingredients
- 2 avocados, ripe
- 1 tomato, diced
- 1 lemon, juiced
- ¼ cup cilantro, finely chopped
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- ½ teaspoon cayenne
- ½ teaspoon Celtic sea salt
- fresh ground black pepper, to taste
Preparation
Mash and mix all ingredients with a fork, and serve. You can serve this as a salad, a chunky dip, or you can mash it up smooth and add water, and use as a salad dressing.
Tip: Instead of cayenne, you could mince in some fresh hot chiles.

I usually just slice an avocado on tacos, but this was so easy to make I decided to try it. Glad I did! I made half the recipe and it was just enough for a taco dinner for two.

We had this again the other day… I’d forgotten how spicy it is! It’s really the best raw guacamole I’ve had…

I thought all guacamoles were raw. What do they do to the cooked ones?

This is delicious! We didn’t do the cayenne because of a 5 year-old’s tastebuds, added a pinch more salt, and believe me, we gobbled it up :)

Ray, I must say it is indeed groovy! I had this tonight with carrots, broccoli and red leaf lettuce. Yumm!! And I’ve got some of Kandace’s apple cookies for dessert!

Made it, It was gone in a flash! Husband like guac now. I like it a little bit hotter so I added a touch more spices. Will sooooo make this a gain… Maybe tonight!

I am very picky when it comes to guac. I have tried many versions and this is by far the best. I ate it all and wanted more!

This is so FANTASTIC. I added a bit of lime juice and a touch of coriander. Since I put in too much lemon (and lime), I countered the over-tartness by adding creamed cashews (just soaked in water and then puréed) and a little agave. Stirred it all together and voilà! Just FANTASTIC. Thank you.

I agree. This is the best gwock I’ve had in a long time. (I used limes as we were out of the lemon…it was great.)

So freaking good! I am another picky eater, and I was able to consume all of this. I left out the cayenne, but it was still sooo yummy.

Nagev…I think some people use a roasted salsa in their guac recipes, some use sour cream…cheese…people get mighty creative heheh..

Hello, I would like to make this this evening, but I do not know what cilantro is. I live in Holland, can anyone tell me please, so that I can buy it at the store.

betty boop, cilantro is another name for corriander…maybe you have corriander? but for guacamole recipes (and probably any recipe that calls for cilantro specifically), use the leaves, not the seed
