Simple Nori Rolls
Adapted from “Asian Vegetable Nori Rolls,” in RAWvolution by Matt Amsden page 129. This is a fairly quick recipe I’ve made for dinner many times.
Hemp Seed Avocado Sushi
Sushi has always been my favorite food pre-raw. Especially avocado sushi! So i was determined to recreate it in a familiar way. I have never seen hemp used in a raw vegan recipe as an alternative to rice (perhaps because it's quite expensive) but the taste and the appearance are wonderfully similar, and it's great for you! These could not have been more successful at satisfying my craving.
"Popcorn" Kale aka Xell's Crunchy Kale Chips
many thanks to xell, my colon hydrotherapist, for her wonderful suggestions and basic recipe for kale chips. i hate kale, and can only tolerate it in small amounts if marinated and in a salad. i was very hesitant to try this idea but xell (pronounced "chell") said they're out of this world. too true. they taste like popcorn and are so crunchy, i can eat a whole head of kale while stuck in traffic. my 2-year-old niece and my own 18-month-old love their 'crunchy salad' and we have to make sure to tear it up a little or else they stuff their faces. one day i'll get a picture of the two of them, with the green powder residue all over their faces. reminiscent of childhood cheetos overdosing... long live green chips!!
(pic coming soon)
Tutti Frutti Booty (fruity-sweet kale chips)
I eat tons of savory kale chips, and though that it would be fun to try one with dried fruit and kale. here it is! delish. my baby loves her "yummies" and i have to break them up for her. savory recipe coming soon, when i can stop eating them long enough to take a photo.
(i'm trying to get a pic up soon, sorry)
Crunchy Salad Pizza Pockets
I was feeling creative one saturday night and felt like making my first batch of raw crackers. thus, the pizza cracker was born. yum. so i keep them in the freezer for a crunchy snack or when inspiration strikes and i want a creative salad. i had romaine hearts in the fridge i needed to use up, as well as a packet of nut cheese, and fresh sprouts... feeling crunchy already!
so you can make the crackers and store them for a while, then throw them in your salad when you're ready :)
(i have a great picture but it's not coming up-sorry!)
