Yield
It yields about 1 cup.
Ingredients
1 cup raw pinekernels
.33 cup cold pressed sesam oil
.33 cup unpealed, raw sesam seeds
¼ cup distilled water (up to 1/3 cup)
Recipe Directions
Note: I use a small hand blender with an S blade. In my mixer, the ingredients would not blend to a thick butter because the quantity is too small and it does not have a S blade. I think my hand blender is more a small food processor hand blender which I always use when I want to make a sauce, butter or spread.
1. Pour all ingredients together in a blender or small food processor with an S blade. Use only 1/4 cup water first. If bumpy, add more water up to 1/3 until it looks like butter, not lumpy. If after using all water up to 1/3, the mixture still lumpy, add 1 tablespoon (up to 3 more) of sesam oil and blend.
Jirizarry's Thoughts
By jirizarryIn the Dutch language, they call all nuts butter nut “pasta” instead of butter. The literal translation of this recipe name would be “Pinekernel Butter”. When I do not have raw tahini at hand, I use this in instead. It could also be used as a dip or as spread on raw crackers or raw bread.
